Q10111 - INFO: asalaam alekum dear brother, I have the following questions? 1,Is it permissible for a married man to preform mutah. 2,I am married with two children currently i have been having a lot of problems with my wife,she does not listen to me,is rude towards me and also she does not let me have sex with her,under these circumstances can i divorce her thank you 1. It is permissible for a married man to contract Mut'ah marriage. However, if the Mamtu'a (the woman whom one marries in Mut'ah) is not a Muslim i.e. she is either Christian or Jew (Ahlul Kitab), then the wife's consent is required as per the ruling of Ayatullah Sistani. 2. Divorce is the husband's prerogative. It is better to work out the problem through mutual understanding for the sake of the children; but divorce is an option for the husband.
