Salams. My daughter is studying Islam within her religious education GCSE in England. The teacher put up a slide stating that Baghdad is considered the holiest city for Shia Muslims. My understanding of Shia teachings was that Mecca, Medina and Jerusalem were the most holy cities to all Muslims and of other cities sacred specifically to Shia, Karbala and others were considered more holy/important than Baghdad? Can you advise what are the holiest cities from Shia perspective and whether Baghdad is perceived as the most holy/important? Many thanks for your advice on this.
