Making dua in Salat in non Arabic languageCategory: QuestionsMaking dua in Salat in non Arabic language

ASA, I have two questions:

  1. During Sajada in Farz/obligatory salat, after doing regular Arabic zikr of subhan alla/ subhan rabi alla …, is it allowed to do dua in one\’s native language say in Urdu while in sajda?
  2. During Qunoot dua in Farz/obligatory salat, can we do dua in Urdu after doing a recommended Arabic dua?

Basically, the ask is – if we can do dua in native language after doing the usual Arabic zikr as an additional dua in native language in obligatory salat?

As Salaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,
We hope this answer finds you in high Islamic spirit.

  1. In sujood, the fuqha didn’t mention anything about dua in the native language so it is better not to do it.
  2. In qunoot, it is allowed to add dua in the native language.
