Mae Aldhurais asked 5 years ago

Salaam,
I have missed two Ramadan’s ( first was I was pregnant in the early stages where I needed to ensure nutrition due to development stage of baby. This Ramadan I missed due to breastfeeding ( my baby is under 6 months and does not eat or have any other nutrition )
my question is, what is my obligation for fidya, qadah and kaffarah. I didn’t pay any fidya last year. Please advise what and how many days I need to pay and compensate

thank you

Salamun Alaikum! Hope you are doing well. We are sorry for replying you late.
1. Qadha: For the missed fasting, you have to do “Qadha” if you are able to do it before next Ramadan.
2. Fidya: If you are not able to do the fasting before next Ramadan then alternatively you can give an amount equal to three quarters of kilogram (3/4) of wheat/rice for each single day missed fasting
3. Kaffara: If you were able to do fasting during the year and you did not do fasting then you are required to pay the Kaffara for each day of fasting..
. The amount of Fidya or Kaffara should be given to the deserving poor momin/momineen. You can send to Imam al-Khoie Islamic Center.
