Shia-Sunni nikkahCategory: QuestionsShia-Sunni nikkah

Assalam o Alikum,
I hope you are doing well. My question is regarding shia sunni nikkah procedure, especially related to Arabic words.
If a syed shia girl marries a syed sunni boy, is it required to perform their nikkah in Arabic? Or it can be performed in the sunni way, in their local language? Would that be valid for shia girl?
Is there any hadith from Imam or references either from sunni books or shia books that nikkah must need to be performed in Arabic language if the bride and groom aren’t native Arabic speakers? Is it okay if their nikkah gets performed in their local language so they can understand it?
JazakAllah.

As Salaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,
We hope this answer finds you in high Islamic spirit.
Nikkah is supposed to be performed in Arabic language. It can be translated into the bride and the groom’s native language.
