Assalamunalaikum,
Currently I m living in middle east, here our people are always get confuse with the beginning of lunar month and always wants to follow the pattern of Iraq.
my question is related with new moon, if the local government has declared beginning of new month, should we follow them or follow new moon of Iraq which is normally a day later? Here we don’t have a proper authority who can guide us. What should we follow?

If the horizon/climate of your county/city is same to Iraq you can follow Iraq. Otherwise you can follow the local moon sighting
